Breast Cancer,so what

Note: The following was a post from my journal

I am one week past my breast removal, been doing my housework ,a little slower but getting things done. Not going to sit in bed and watch t.v . A person can heal alot faster when in motion. Just because a person gets breast cancer doesn't mean they are dying . Only a few people do. But if this all gets the best of me ,even though death isn't something anyone is ready for , guess what , we all are born to die .

I do get my rest ,went shopping for groceries, put them away and then lay down and slept for 11 hours .

Not sure why I slept that long but the body does repair itself when you sleep.

Surgery went great ,, had it friday the first of feb, and went home the 2nd of feb. only pain meds I have had since release is tylenol with codiene but mostly have been taking regular tylenol.

Just have had a compression bandage at first ,but now wearing my bra with some smaller compression pads in them. I can comb, curl my short hair with my left hand (same side as breast removal),even wash my hair as well.
Sometimes women can't do even this small effort.

Sometime soon I will start chemo that will chase down other cancer cells and terminate them. I might lose my hair ,eyebrows ,eyelashes and all other body hair but at least no stubby legs for awhile

I have been getting ready for my gardening season ,thinking of what I want to plant.and where. Because of chemo in the near future I have to keep myself protected from the sun.
